Verse: Galatians 5:7

"Who Hindered You?"

Dear God,

Thank You for today! Thank You for all the wisdom that You have been diligently pouring into me in this year. I made a decision this year, that I would no longer delay getting to know You on a personal level and also gaining a true understanding of Your word.

It hasn't been the easiest, but daily I've been seeking You and studying Your word for true understanding and answers concerning my life. I've been pursuing you for the peace that I need to walk through life, instead of seeking this peace through things that are of this world.

Father, honestly, today I am just a little frustrated.

Actually, I'm very frustrated.

I'm not sure I am worthy to even try to live out this life that You've called me to live.

I was speaking with a lady about all that I've been doing thus far to draw closer to You and although I know she didn't mean any harm, what she told me made me think that I probably should not take this route at all.

Father, You were there, so I won't go into details of our conversation, but I feel exhausted from this journey. I feel like I just have too far to go and I don't think I have the strength. I think, it's best for me to walk away. Maybe, this isn't the way for me after all.

Signed with Love and Confusion,

Your Daughter Zane

Dear Zane,

You were doing so well on this journey.

What about this conversation with this lady that is stopping you? What did you allow to step in the way of what I've commanded? My Daughter, you are already saved by grace. There is not one thing that can make Me stop loving you.

I've already paid the price for your life. It's finished.

I want you to know that I will never leave you nor forsake you. I know the moments you will face before you even know that you will face them.

Although, this woman is my daughter as well and I know the heart that was intended in what she was speaking. The enemy loves to cause us confusion and so even when we have the best intentions and we are in the midst of the wise, it is still My spirit that will lead you into all truth.

I want you to take a moment to reread the letters that we've been writing. Let them be an encouragement to you today. An encouragement that reminds you, just how much that I love you.

Your walk with Me, is one filled with grace. You don't have to exhaust yourself because although the path is narrow, I walk beside you and before you, showing you the way. My sheep know My voice, Zane. They listen to Me and they follow Me. Do not fear.

If one of you goes missing, I will come and find You myself. Take the heavy lifting off because I've already carried what's heavy on this journey, for you.

There are things that are placed on your path, that are literally meant to hinder you. Perhaps, you should sit with this woman and tell her how your ears heard her words. I have a slight feeling that she will want to retract what she said and reiterate what she meant, so that you can truly understand her heart in her words.

Sometimes when our heart is set on failure, it's hard for us to hear the words of anyone. Don't be hard on yourself, you are doing great.

Signed with Love, Patience, and Understanding,

Your Father

Your Weekly Journaling Prompt

The Instruction:

God's Word in Galatians 5:7:

"You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?"

The Key:

1. Stay the Course.

2. Be Mindful of Things that are meant to delay you on the way.

Put this into Practice:

1. Journal about a place in your life where you have become exhausted with trying and instead have decided to give up completely. Write honestly about this place without editing. Write down your feelings and emotions concerning how you feel about this place. Pour it all out before God.

2. Rewrite Galatians 5:7. Write this verse as if it was speaking personally to you. Read it aloud. Let the words spoken, really sink in.

i.e., Sherai, you were running well. Girl... what hindered you from continuing to obey?

3. Pray. Pray and ask God to help you with this place in your life. Listen for His wisdom. Receive His peace.

We all hit what we consider brick walls on this journey called life. We have to stop and ask ourselves, what stopped us from continuing on this journey. Was it God? If it wasn't God, then who?
